It's that time again....another 5 years has almost gone by and it's time to gather once again with our high school friends and reminisce, brag, compare aches and pains, discuss retirement, and just have a good time. 

We are using the Arundel Mills area as our base of operations.  Nearby are the Maryland Live Casino, Arundel Mills Shopping Outlets, and BWI airport.  Close by are Baltimore/Inner Harbor and Annapolis.  With a home football game at the Naval Academy on Saturday and Parents weekend there, we had to shift our base to where we could find good hotel and entertainment options.

Friday night 6pm-?? casual icebreaker/mixer at the Live! Lofts Hotel near Arundel Mills Casino.  Address is 7491 New Ridge Rd, Hanover, MD 21076.  There is a bar/grill in the hotel and we will also have a dedicated separate conference room (Cryptography room) to gather.  There is no cost for this event but we would like to know if you plan to attend.  You are on your own for the cost of your food and drink.  Parking at the hotel is free.  Hotel website

Saturday - main event - 1pm-7pm - afternoon/early evening indoor/outdoor barbecue/picnic at Camp Letts in Edgewater, MD.  The address is 4003 Camp Letts Rd, Edgewater, MD 21037.  This is about 25 miles/35mins from the Live! Lofts hotel and is located on the Rhode River that leads into the Chesapeake Bay.  We have the indoor Boathouse facility and an outside, tree-covered picnic area.  We will have a BBQ meal with all the fixins catered by Mission BBQ.  We will have music and games, beverages (alcohol and non), cake, etc.  For those needing a Maryland Steamed Crab fix, we are offering a crab add-on option for the meal.  We have full use of the fields and facilities of the camp.  Cost is $40 per person for BBQ only or $50 per person if you also want crabs.  Some beverages (beer, soda, wine, water) will be provided, but, you can also bring your own drinks into the camp.

We've come up with a theme for our BBQ/Picnic....."Come as you Were"...so, breakout any early 70s retro clothes you might have...tie dye, bell bottoms, letterman's jacket, pom pom uniform, chuck taylors, CHS colors, etc. and let's take a trip to the past..to simpler, easier times.

Sunday - 9am brunch at the Live! Lofts Hotel.  $11.95 cost for the breakfast would be on your own.  They have a buffet or you can have a made to order breakfast.  No commitment is required, but, we would like an approximate head count of who plans to participate.

Lodging - We have reserved a block of rooms at the Live! Lofts Hotel.  Rooms are $119 + tax for a King or double Queen or $228 + tax  for a 2 bedroom suite (1 King, 2 queens).  Each adult registered guest gets a $20 Slots play voucher for the casino...one voucher per person, regardless of the length of your stay.  Hotel has an indoor pool, bar/grill, shuttle service to airport/casino, free parking, wifi, etc.  Hotel Website

Even if you are local to the DC area, consider staying at the hotel on Friday night.  That way you can attend the mixer, enjoy your libations, and not worry about driving home.  Then, have a leisurely Saturday morning before heading down to the main event at Camp Letts.

Please make your room reservation(s) prior to September 1 in order to get this rate.  Call the hotel directly at 443-445-2929 to make reservations and mention the "Crossland Class of 72 Reunion" group.

Flying In?  BWI is very close to the Hotel.  There is a shuttle from BWI to the hotel.  The Hotel also provides regular shuttles to the nearby Casino.  There may be some extra rides with other classmates available to Saturday's picnic event if you would rather not rent a car.  Otherwise, you may need a car to get around, especially for Saturday.

What's next?  It's time to sign up, make your travel plans, and start that summer diet to get down to 'reunion weight'!!!  Please help us get the word out to our fellow classmates and let's have a good turnout for this event.  Make sure everyone you are in contact with is aware of the event and please encourage them to participate.  Some people just need a little nudge. 

Go to the Reunion Registration page to indicate which events you will participate in and pay for the Saturday main event.  Credit card payments are encouraged or you can mail a check.  Donations are always welcome too!!!  Donations help offset the cost for website maintenance and other incidental costs.  Donors will be recognized on the website.

Who's Invited?  Obviously, all CHS 72 alumni and their spouses/significant others are invited.  We are also opening up our event to alumni from other "close by" CHS Classes - those from 67-75.  The more the merrier.  However, this is an adult event and probably would not be suitable for young children/grandchildren.  Please note...the Saturday event is a ticketed event.  Only those who have paid will be admitted.  There are a number of costs beyond just the meal that have to be covered by the event fee.
