Crossland High School
Class Of 1972
ANNOUNCEMENTS

Hear Ye, Hear Ye.....all you Cavaliers living in Florida.  We are planning a first ever gathering of Crossland Alumni, First 10 Classes (66-76), in The Villages, FL on Saturday October, 19th, 2019.  The main event will be an outdoor pot luck picnic from 1-5pm at the Seabreeze Recreation Center.  This will be a no cost or low cost informal event.

For those who want to come early or stay longer.... we will have a happy hour gathering on Friday evening at a location TBA and either a brunch or attend a polo match on Sunday afternoon.  In between, you can check out a wonderful farmer's market at Brownwood town square Saturday morning, attend the monthly vintage car show at Spanish Springs town square on Saturday evening, and just generally check out The Villages.

There are hotel properties onsite as well as AirBnB rentals.  For anyone really wanting to explore what the Villages is all about, they offer a 3-7 day Lifestyle Preview program for approx $125/night.  You get a 3 bedroom villa, golf cart, bicycles, some freebies with golf and movie tickets, and access to all the facilities. And, absolutely no sales pressure.

For now, this is simply a heads up "Save the Date" notice.  If you do plan to attend, you will need to signup as we have to get you guest passes (no cost) to stay legal with the management.  The practical limit is 100 attendees.

The Villages is a 130,000 person 55+ active adult community located in Central Florida...about an hour NW of Orlando and  less than 2 hours from Tampa.  It features approximately 45 golf courses, 80+pools, 3 town squares with live entertainment every evening, 28 movie screens, 2 bowling alleys, 182 pickleball courts, numerous recreation centers, polo stadium, shopping, dining, hotels, etc.  All accessible by golf cart!!!  Check it out at www.thevillages.com

So, mark it on your calendar and we hope to see you in October!!!

I will eventually create an info page on our CHS 72 website with details and updates and also post this on the "First 10 Classes" Facebook Group page.

If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to contact me thru this site.

Nancy Watson, '72, primary organizer

(but I am going to recruit some help from my sister Gail ('68) and at least 3 other classmates I know that live here!!!)

The list of classmates below are in danger of being lost to us as they have deleted or changed email addresses in the past year.  If you have contact with any of them, please encourage them to login to our www.crossland72.com website and update their email address.   We are a scant 3 years away from our big 50 year Reunion Event and don't want to lose anybody!!!

Now that we are all inching towards 65, how about a look back at the past?   We have recently scanned in the memory book from our 20th Reunion held in 1992.  It can be found under the "Old Photos" link on the left or click here to go directly to it.  Enjoy being 38 again!!!

Anyone interested in doing a leaf-peeper New England cruise in September, 2019???  Fellow alum and travel agent Patti Walter is putting together a CHS Cruise trip.  See the link  "2019 Cruise" on our home page for all the details.

9/29/2017:  The 45th Reunion Weekend is in the history books.  Thanks to all who participated.  It was a great weekend.  A Recap and photos are posted on the "45th Reunion Photos" menu link on the left side.  Or, you can click here to go directly to the page.

If you are in contact with any fellow classmates who are on the "Missing" page, please send them the link to this site or send their contact info to crossland72@yahoo.com

9/29/2014: Here's a special treat, courtesy of Scott Casto, class of '71.  His Dad took this video of the '71 Homecoming game from November, 1970.  Scott had it converted to digital to preserve it for the ages.  How many faces and jersey numbers do you recognize?   We were lowly juniors that year, but, no doubt, many of us were on the field, in the stands, in the band, or doing cheers and pom poms.  Click here to go to Picasa website to view the video.

Check out this cool You Tube video with a nostalgic tour through Hyattsville and upper PG County in the 60s.  Great background music and sound from WPGC AM 1580.  Brings back lots of memories!!!    Enjoy...

CHS Alumni attend 6/17/2013 Golf Tournament Benefit at Twin Shields Country Club, Dunkirk MD.  Go to the Misc Photos link for the full photo and caption with last names of most participants.

3/13/13: Check out "Old Photos" link for Princeton Elementary School, Grades 1-6 class photos.  Can be found in pre-Crossland years photo gallery as photos 6-12.

Thanks to Sharon Jenkins (Mills) for sending them in.  Princeton Elementary was off of Auth Road.  How many faces do you recognize???

Welcome to the Crossland High Class Of 1972 web site.

Welcome Home!!! This is a protected site where we can meet up once again, keep up with reunion events and other planned meetings of classmates, see what everybody has been up to, and just have fun.

The 45th Reunion of the Crossland High School Class of 1972  was held the weekend of September 21-23, 2017 at Camp Letts in Edgewater, MD and the Live! Lofts Hotel near BWI.  By all accounts, it was a great success and a good time was had by all.

Click on the "45th Reunion Photos" link on the main left navigation bar to see the photos from all 3 weekend events.

It won't be long before we start thinking about a grand production for our 50th Reunion.  These years are racing by far too quickly.

Check back on this site  often as new photos are posted, "missing" classmates are found, and profiles are updated.
